Ohio Department of Agriculture’s (ODA) H2Ohio Launched in 2019, uses a comprehensive approach guided by science and data to reduce algal blooms, stop pollution, and improve access to clean drinking water by supporting best farming practices.

ODA’s incentive program was first made available to producers in the Western Lake Erie Basin and is now expanding to counties statewide. ODA has a close partnership with SWCDs across Ohio to provide technical assistance, administer program contracts, and assist producers in implementing BMPs.

H2OHIO ENROLLMENT INFORMATION

All producers who choose to participate in the new H2Ohio 2.0 rollout must have a valid email address and speak with a soil and water conservation district about getting registered in MyFarms. MyFarms is a platform that allows district employees and producers to work together, allowing producers to load in field maps, crop rotations, acres, fertilizer placement, and H2Ohio contract data. This process can also be completed by the districts working with ag retailers/co-ops that have this information and have the producers’ consent to share it with Marion SWCD. MyFarms, will also allow the producer to access information about grant payments per acre and see the total amount to be paid based on practices input.

Call or email Marion SWCD for more information or assistance.
